Overview of Speedlights by Bob Davis. This is a nice, comprehensive overview of how one photographer, Bob Davis, travels light with his bag full of speed lights to creatively light his client assignments. I follow a similar path using speed lights both for on site lighting and also for use in a studio. The key for me is to gang up speed lights to simulate the power of larger strobes and to use great diffusers (for example, Apollo 50" umbrella soft box) to soften the light. I am a Nikon shooter but Bob shoots with a Canon and the principles are the same regardless of your camera.
