Faces of the Homeless in AshlandI ride my bike everywhere -- at least everywhere where there are no steep hills. And so I see a lot everything in Ashland, my adopted hometown. I especially see a lot of the homeless, usually along the bike path or just about anywhere where you don't ride a car. Often I will buy them a sandwich and if they have a dog, I buy them cans of dog food too. But last Saturday was different, I asked a few of the homeless men, not too far from where I live, if I could photograph them. We chatted a bit and I felt self conscious as I photographed them (even though I had asked them their permission), and unlike me, they seemed fine: natural, relaxed and not bothered by my camera.

Very touching and well done! I've seen some of these fellas myself around Ashland. You've looked them right in the eye, which is what most people cannot do. Kudos.
