Meet my four legged friends ...

Each day I ride my bike through Ashland and always I stop to feed fresh carrots to my mule friends.  Actually four are mules and one is a mare. I assume she is there mother since mules cant reproduce but are the offspring of the mating of a horse and a donkey ... evidently this little mare has been quire prodigious in producing mules.

Mules can be lightweight, medium weight, or even, when produced from draught horse mares, of moderately heavy weight. It has been claimed that mules are "more patient, sure-footed, hardy and long-lived than horses, and they are considered less obstinate, faster, and more intelligent than donkeys...  Wikipedia
